Orbeas new Alma

Last week Orbea released the new Alma. The frame only weighs 830 grams in size M. I don't know if this is the lightest hardtail frame out there but it is definitely among the lightest. Orbea could achieve this by using a knew carbon layup technique they call OMX. But more importantly it looks great. I like that kink in the toptube. At the moment there is no framekit available. But Orbea says there might come one later this autumn.

I'd love to ride a great XC hardtail. In addition to my Lux XC fully it would be interesting to push the weight to new limits. Actually I have a different kind of bike in my mind at the moment but maybe that framekit would also a nice addition to my bike pool.
What I especially like about the Alma is its geometry. My Lux is a fully and it has a steering angle of 70 degrees. The Alma has only 68 degrees. For a XC race bike that's really slack. I wonder how that feels. It would be the slackest bike I've ever ridden. 😆
